Context / Contexte
The arrival of migrants contributes to diversifying the demographic, cultural, linguistic, ethnic and religious makeup of already diverse European cities and suburbs and rural communities. This may represent an opportunity, but also a significant challenge if taking place in an unorderly manner, as occurred in Europe since 2014. Indeed, the existing policies and measures are no longer sufficient to manage migration flows and, as a result, fail at offering a suitable solution for migrants’ inclusion. Thus, a major challenge is to provide policy makers at local, regional, national and supra-national level, civil society organizations and other relevant actors with effective, responsive, flexible, context-specific and culture-specific proposals for measures to promote socio-economic integration and inclusion as well as access to rights and services. This includes sustainable and participatory strategies, with the involvement of citizens, civil society actors, education institutions and the private sector.
Objectives / Objectifs
The QUALITOP project aims at developing and implementing an IT-based European immunotherapy platform and using big data analysis, artificial intelligence, and simulation modelling approaches to collect and aggregate efficiently and effectively real-world QoL data, monitor patients’ health status, conduct causal inference analyses, create harm-reduction recommendations for patients and other stakeholders, and disseminate the findings.
Expected impact and results / Impact et résultats attendus
Develop, implement and test a participatory housing construction program dedicated to immigrants involving various stakeholders (citizens, civil society actors, education institutions, private sector and beneficiaries) to propose inclusive measures recommendations for local, regional, national and European authorities and other stakeholders, and disseminate the findings.
MERGING project consists in (1) a review of the literature on inclusive and innovative practices focusing on housing, for the integration of recently arrived migrants in local communities, (2) the implementation and the evaluation of a pilot project in 3 countries and (3) the elaboration of recommendations, guidelines and tools dedicated to policy makers, local authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders interested in replicating the initiative.
